Half House

Contemporary New Build

  • Location: Cambridge

    Construction budget: £550,000

  • Fen Studio Architects were appointed to design a contemporary sustainable dwelling on a prominent corner plot in Cambridgeshire. The brief was to maximise the site’s potential and create an energy-efficient 3-bedroom family home with a strong architectural identity.

The dwelling was designed as a modern interpretation of the traditional pitched house form, allowing it to respond to the surrounding residential context while creating a bold and striking appearance within the street scene.

Renewable energy systems were integrated into the scheme, including an air source heat pump and a highly insulated building envelope designed to reduce operational energy demand and support long-term sustainability
